Weaver Volume 2 Unit 2 Chapter 2

So we just finished our Second Unit/Chapter in Alpha Omega's Weaver Volume 2.
This is a 5 day unit, and we did it in one week.

Day 1- Read books on Families, Wrote out our Family tree, used a printout different than the one in the resource section as the lines were larger. Started weaving baskets. Each boy and I each did one. Then Josiah and I both made a second one. I bought the Camp Kit (for schools, camps, scouts, Bible schools etc) that contains 15 bases and #3 round reed (two packages), and some plastic beads. From http://www.basketweaving.com for $29.95. I plan to use them as Christmas Presents.
Josiah - Handwriting, Saxon Math, flashcards. Isaac-Saxon Math Lesson 16, flashcards, Mat and Sam (Bob Books)

Day 2- Studied River plants, cattails (made cattails from construction paper for notebooks). Josiah - finished letter to President Bush, Saxon Lesson 75, Flashcards, Handwriting, Fun in the Sun (Bob Book). Isaac- Dot (Bob Book), Saxon Lesson 17.

Day 3- Discussed Responsibility, Josiah - Wrote president's address on envelope, Handwriting, Saxon, Up Pup (Bob book), Isaac - Saxon Math Lesson 18, Flashcards, Dot (Bob Book)

Day 4- Talked about Natural resources, Renewable and non-renewable, the cause of the flood on fossil fuels and what is made of oil, petroleum etc, watched video from Library. Josiah - read 1/2 of Up Pup (Bob Book), Math-U-See (day 1), Saxon Lesson 76. Isaac Math-U-See (day 1) Saxon Math Lesson 19, counting apple seeds.

Day 5- Nile River, Amazon River and rivers in general. Josiah - Saxon math facts, new flashcard words, Math-U-See(day2), Finished Up Pup (Bob Books) Isaac Saxon Math Lesson 20, Math-U-See (day2), New flashcard words, Sam (Bob Book)
